Similar to our driver policy for car insurance, any rider can use your motorcycle. We categorise riders as follows:
Regular Rider - the person who rides the motorcycle most often and is noted as the regular rider on the policy schedule.
Listed Riders - anyone who also rides the motorcycle, although less frequently that the regular rider, and is noted on your policy schedule.
Unlisted Riders - anyone who rides the motorcylce who is not listed on the policy. If you decide not to list a rider, there is an additional unlisted rider excess in the event of a claim. For some motorcycles, unlisted riders won't be covered - we'll let you know in the quote process if this applies to you.
Some other people who might ride your motorcycle include:
Learner Riders - a learner riders is covered provided they have a valid licence. There isn’t any cover however if any form of payment is received for teaching someone to ride.
Service Providers - valet parking and cleaning attendants or employees of a licensed automotive workshop are covered to ride the motorcycle whilst it is in the care of that business.
If your motorcycle requires emergency repairs or towing (including storage) as the result of any insured event, we cover the reasonable costs involved when you have Comprehensive or Third Party Fire and Theft cover.
